Meet Mrs. Madere!
Doniphan West High School hosted Reality U, an interactive financial literacy and school engagement activity teaching students about finance and the importance of good decision-making. Students in the 8th and 10th grades participated and were able to imagine their life as a 26-year-old. They completed an online lifestyle survey, including questions about their occupation, marital status, children, and their current grade point average (GPA). This information is entered into a software program that links their answers to give each student a life scenario.
Students quickly learned that adult life can be expensive and left the event with a greater understanding of how their decisions made today can affect their future.
This wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful community members who volunteer their time to help at the booths and interact with the students. Thank you for sharing your time with us!

With knowing the updated start times for the cross country meet at Seneca on 9/21, it allows the HS Power Puff game to be scheduled at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 21 at 7:15 p.m.
Additional areas will be open at the elementary school for parking for the JH football game tonght. Parking attendents will be on duty begining at 5:15 p.m. to guide you as needed.

USD #111 is seeking bids for concrete bleachers, separate bids on two options, at the football field located 642 Hwy East, Denton, KS. The scope of work for work related to elevated bleachers would include demolition of existing concrete and construction of new bleacher concrete, ADA ramp on each end, and replacing the current fence. The scope of work for sitting the bleachers on the ground would include demolition of existing concrete and construction of new bleacher pad, and sidewalks on each end. Bid must also include the removal and reinstallation of the bleachers anchored to the new concrete. Materials used must include concrete that equals 4,500 psi, 6% air, w/c.42 Max. Rebar equal to 60 KSI. The full drawing for both scenarios and specifications can be found at www.bit.ly/4632LG4. Work may begin on Oct. 27 (or after football playoffs) and must be completed by July 1, 2024, with bids honored during this window. Inquiries on further specifications can be made to Chris Gibson, cgibson@usd111.org. Bids are to be sent to the board clerk by 4:00 PM on Oct. 2 by emailing mhill@usd111.org. The district has the right to reject all bids.
