Recently, the Doniphan West schools participated in Youth Art Month in Topeka. Each school was allowed to enter only one piece into the state art show at the Shawnee County Public Library. Tinley Cluck created a painting of a landscape with horse and a sunset for the elementary level. Tinley is the daughter of Matt and Jennifer Cluck. Aliza Tracy drew a picture of a fruit tray in colored pencil for the middle level. She is the daughter of Eric and Crystal Tracy. Lastly, Katie Johnson created a yarn painting of a wave for the high school level. Katie is the daughter of David and Carla Johnson. Aliza Tracy received second place in the middle level awards for her drawing. Her piece was also selected to be one of the 13 pieces sent to the National Art Education Association conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota to represent exemplary products of the Kansas art education programs. We are so proud of these girls for their efforts and exemplary work they do in their art classes!
