Eighth grade has been studying forces with a concentration on concepts such as balanced and unbalanced forces. Students have been discovering how forces act on each other. The students built playing card towers and learned that when a balanced force occurs on the cards, the tower is successfully balanced. However, when forces are greater on one side, then the force becomes unbalanced and causes the cards to fall. Adam Keys stated, “ Learning concepts through fun activities is fun.” “ As we move forward with physics concepts, I know the students will love all the active learning stations that are yet to come,” added Ms. Allen.
