The Winter Royalty King and Queen will be crowned at halftime of the boys varsity basketball game on Friday, Jan. 31. The candidates are Brennah Edie, H'Leigha Idol, Melissa Paolino, and Hudsen Penny.
Brennah Edie is the daughter of Jerod and Whitney Edie and Brian and Melanie Hill. Brennah has three siblings: Kyleigh, Joey, and Jagger. Brennah has participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, Kay Club, Student Council, and National Honor Society. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family. After high school, Brennah plans to play softball at North Central Missouri College and finish her associates degree.
H'Leigha Idol is the daughter of Nathan and Angie Idol. She has two older brothers, Hunter and Houston, and a younger sister, Hadi. H'Leigha has participated in volleyball, cheer, dance, track, softball, FFA, Kay Club, and Student Council. She is the FFA president this year. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family, working, shopping, and attending dance practices with her little sister. H'Leigha plans to attend Highland Community College to take nursing prerequisite classes and be on the track team. She would then like to further her education and attend nursing school.
Melissa Paolino is the daughter of Mandy and John Paolino. Melissa has two younger brothers, John Jr. and Hayden. Melissa has participated in track, basketball, powerlifting, Honor Society, FFA, and Kay Club. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys hanging out with her friends and working. Melissa plans to attend Kansas State University to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.
Hudsen Penny is the son of Nathan and Miranda Penny. Hudsen has two older brothers, Fletcher and Grayden, and an older sister, Parker. Hudsen has participated in basketball, football, baseball, Kay Club, and FFA. He also attends HCC-Technical Center for the Electrical Technology program. In his spare time, Hudsen enjoys hanging out with friends and family. After high school, Hudsen plans to do something in the electrical field.
